Family-Owned Business
The dream began in Harmony, Minnesota with the Casterton Family Farm. Milking cows and farming with horses fueled a passion for quality livestock. Since then, we have evolved to performance quarter horses and British White Cattle, most recently miniature British Whites. The future is looking to work with advanced reproductive technologies to produce quality genetics and miniature cattle.
ABOUT SOLID ROCK
Solid Rock Cattle and Horses began with Quarter Horses. We admire the Pitzer lines and have many horses tracing back to Two Eyed Jack. We train horses with the intent to be rodeo prospects, but realize that every horse may not thrive in that setting, so putting a quality foundation on every horse is important to us. We have horses who have gone on to have careers as gentle trail horses, kids rodeo horses, and high level performance horses. The Casterton's have expanded to miniature cattle and currently have British Whites and Herefords. 2025 will bring the first set of homebred calves and we are excited to continue to breed miniature cattle for color and companionship.
RAISING HORSES AND CATTLE IS A FAMILY AFFAIR
Having two veterinarians in the family has allowed us to breed and raise horses and cattle as a family. We have been able to try some different avenues in breeding and genetics. We learning more with every cross and are always working towards make higher quality animals.
